Lt. Col Allen West Responds to Racist Reid’s Comments

10 01 2010

For the inaugural post to the new John Galt Line, I give you the letter Lt. Colonel West, Republican Congressional candidate in Florida, wrote yesterday in response to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s published comments about candidate Obama’s “Negro dialect” not being a problem in his run for President of the United States.

America – we need more men & women who speak as candidly and honestly as Colonel West as we try to drag ourselves from the politically equitable age of properthink. I can give no greater tribute than to turn the floor over to this great man and all who step forward as he has done:

“The revelation of Senator Harry Reid’s comments referencing “negro talk” is just indicative of the true sentiment elitist liberals, and indeed the Democratic party, have toward black Americans. The history of the Democrat party is one of slavery, secession, segregation, and now socialism. It is this new aged socialism born from the Johnson Great Society programs that have castigated blacks as victims needing government dependency. One need only to look upon the city of Detroit to ascertain what liberal social welfare policies have produced for the inner city…..the new plantation for black Americans.

“The Ku Klux Klan was birthed by the Democrats as a terrorist wing to intimidate blacks, and whites, who sought to promote economic and education independence and social justice for blacks. What was once overt has just morphed and become covert, yet still exists..

“One can only imagine the insanity and media outrage if Reid’s quote had come from a member of the Republican party. I look forward to hearing from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton on Reid’s comments……..or has liberal hush money paid for the silence of these proprietors of poverty and victimization theory.. Actually, if President Obama had any courage he would demand Reid step down as Senate Majority Leader, and discontinue any support for his Senate reelection…….notice I said “if”. I am quite sure the Soros money which elevated Obama to the position of President has bought his servitude.

“Why am I running for US Congress as a Republican, simple, I would rather stand proudly and be called “Uncle Tom and Sellout” than lose my self-esteem and be considered an inferior by liberals. I understand the legacy of the GOP and the black community….not that revisionist history espoused by liberal educators. I am not, shall never be, and will not raise my daughters to be a part of the liberal 21st century plantation. I am not just some articulate, clean, good speaking negro. I am an American warrior, Congressional candidate, and shall never submit to the collective progressive ideal of inferiority.

“Senator Harry Reid’s comments are disgusting, despicable, and unacceptable. They are representative of how intellectual elite liberals do indeed speak of black Americans in their closed private spaces. Next week I have been invited to NYC to address the Hudson Institute, a conservative organization, conference on “Reclaiming American Liberty”. That invite came to me because I took advantage of the opportunities this great Republic offered. I followed the guidance of my parents and set my standards above all others around me. I speak well and have impeccable communicative skills because my Father and Mother prioritized that quality.

“I shiver to think what my future could have been if I listened to the insidious rhetoric of charlatans such as Harry Reid, and the ambassadors of affirmative action who reside in the Congressional Black Caucus.

“Sure, the “stuck on stupid” blacks are going to address me in derogatory names, but I possess something which they lack; Honor, Integrity, and Character. To them I say, continue to be slaves to the liberals for your vote…….and in a year you will be calling me Congressman West.”

Steadfast and Loyal,

LTC(R) Allen B West

what a perfect way to begin your blog! He is *exactly* what I want a whole platoon of in DC – exceptional Americans, willing to do what is necessary to keep us strong and safe.
Unlike the current crop of treasonous turnips the unbelievably un-informed have sent there. ‘We the People’ need a collective b*tchslap.

EXCELLENT rebuff to the barbs of harry reid. I do not disagree with any of your points. You will make a honest congressman and will represent our United States with honor. You are a strong Patriot and, just as important, a family man. Our prayers are with you.

A sensless blog with stupid illogical reasoning. This article seems somewhat conflicted between praising Republicans who are undeniable racist (you only need to look at John McCain’s election gatherings to see it) and condemning Reid whose words are indeed racist.

There should have been no conflict there but you went ahead and created conflict. It would have been OK to condemn Reid without trying to convince us that Republicans are saints. There was no value added to the article by blaming black people’s economic state in America on liberals and those who are fighting for affirmative actions. Please note that black people’s economic state was a lot worse before the affirmative action started.

I also do not understand the relevance of saying that racism is now covert – somehow blaming that on the liberals who have fought against racism. You maybe be book smart but you appear from this article to lack common sense.

In fact there are so many things wrong with your article that I feel that I could spend a day discussing the issues. That I do not have any time for.

On a personal level, I am a black person from London and I feel very disappointed in this article but that was purely on an emotional level.

Obviously you did not read that this was a LETTER from a Congressional candidate. And since you obviously don’t know who Lt. Colonel West is, let me introduce you.

Republicans are not saints. I didn’t say they were, nor, do I think, does Lt. Col West. But please read your history about the Democratic Party…perhaps a trip over to PBS will help you.

“Please note that black people’s economic state was a lot worse before the affirmative action started.”

Ya might wanna research that a bit before you make that claim.

And you’re confusing two categories: those who fought for equal rights forty, fifty years ago and those who claim to be fighting the same fight today. The second category is much, much larger and is populated primarily by con artists and hate-mongers who show more interest in stirring up racial division than in healing it.

I particularly love the “Republicans are undeniably racist” line. Well, I deny it. There are undoubtedly racist Republicans, but most Republicans reject the basic idea of racism — that skin color makes you somehow less worthy of someone else — while Democrats THROUGH THEIR ENTIRE HISTORY have sought to enshrine that concept into law.

Your “undeniable” line also runs into the roadblock of Lt. Col. Allen West himself. Drop him an email and ask him if Republicans are “undeniably” racist.

Wonderful letter, honorable man.

I for one have awoken and see the Democratic Party for what it is, what it’s done to black Americans to keep them down. My awakening started in Jan of 2008 at the beginning of the Primaries March 2008 I ceased to follow CNN MSNBC and any liberal blog, news sites or Air America . Too much Race-baiting , demeaning of ordinary hard working Americans.

Anyone who thinks the Dems support the middleclass needs to do some reading and wake up.

Trent Lott was forced to step down for similar mis-statements. To Honorabl;e Harry Reid, we expect your resignation by Friday Jan 15, 2010.

Thank You

“I wonder how a Black Liberal born & raised in London could possibly understand an america black experience?”

Hey, they’ve seen TV, read what gets reported in the British papers. How are they to know they’re being fed a line?

You nailed it. It’s about time someone pulled the mask off the racist left. So far, they have been able to get away with the double standard over and over. It’s time we fought back. One great way to fight back is to expose all the hypocrisy. Keep up the great work.
